Caring for your candles
Did you know that candles have rules? By taking proper care of your candles, you can extend their life.
For a clean burn each time:
Trim your candle’s wick to 1/4 inch prior to lighting your candle for the first time, and before each subsequent lighting. This prevents the flame from getting to large, prevents soot buildup around the jar, and extends the life of your candle.
“Train” your candle:
The first burn of your container candle is the most important, since it trains how the wax will pool in subsequent sessions. for the first burn, we recommend burning your candle until there is a layer of fully melted wax across the container. If you happen to extinguish your candle before you have a full wax melt pool your candle is likely to tunnel or melt unevenly.
Handle with care!
Never leave your burning candle unattended: Please be sure to extinguish your candle when you leave a room or before you go to sleep.
Keep away from drafts and flammable materials: Do not place your burning candle near anything flammable such as curtains, books, clothing etc. And keep away from drafts or air currents from fans or windows.
Mind the placement:
Keep your candle out of reach of pets and small children!
Place burning candles on heat resistant/heat safe surface or coaster to avoid any discoloration or damage to surfaces.
All good things must come to an end:
Extinguish your candle if the flame gets too close to the side of your candle container as this can cause glass to break.
Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Extinguish the flame, allow the wax to fully harden, and container to fully cool between uses. By practicing proper candle care and safety, you achieve the longest burn time possible.
Prevent wax spatter or flame-ups by using candle snuffer. If you don’t have one, gently blow out the flame.
Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains
